Frequently asked questions

What is HeatingNews.ca?

A Canadian heating market newsroom and a digital marketing and business consulting service for heating companies. Ali Sedighi, MBA leads it, and it sits within the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group, run from Vancouver, BC.

Are you a heating contractor?

No. We do not install, repair or service any heating equipment. We report on the heating market and we market heating businesses.

How much does your marketing cost?

Plans are $2,998, $4,498 or $8,998 a month, and websites are $3,500, $6,500 or $12,500 one-time plus monthly hosting. Prices are in Canadian dollars, plus GST/HST for your province.

Do I have to sign a long contract?

No. There is no lock-in. The specific terms of your engagement are confirmed in writing in your proposal.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. The 7-day free trial includes a digital marketing audit, website performance check, SEO analysis and competitor benchmarking, with no credit card required.

How long before we see results?

Ads can bring calls within days of launch. Local search and content usually take several months to build. We set expectations for your market in the first conversation and report on progress throughout.

We tried an agency before and it didn't work. Why would this be different?

We can't promise it will be, and you should be wary of anyone who does. What we can show you is a written plan tied to your province's rates and programs, named results from our HVAC work, and reporting that measures calls and booked jobs rather than clicks.

Who owns the website and accounts?

You do. Your website, Google Business Profile, ad accounts and analytics belong to your company.

What reports will we get?

Starter includes monthly reporting. Growth includes weekly reporting. Elite adds a real-time dashboard, monthly strategy calls and custom reporting.

Will you promise rankings or a set number of leads?

No. Rankings and leads depend on competition, your market and your operations. We show you the plan, the measures and the results as they come in.

Do you give advice on rebate eligibility or regulations?

No. We explain what official sources say and link them. Eligibility, licensing and compliance questions belong with the program administrator or the regulator.

Where do your news stories come from?

From documents we load and read ourselves: regulator decisions, utility releases, provincial program pages and Statistics Canada. Each story links its source and carries the source's date.

Do you work in French?

Yes, for Quebec service areas we plan French-language pages, since websites aimed at Quebec customers must be available in French.

About the newsroom

The short answer: primary sources only, dated, with analysis kept apart.

HeatingNews.ca reports heating market changes by province: utility rate decisions, energy price data and program changes. Every story starts with a document we loaded ourselves, such as the Nova Scotia Energy Board's March 2026 decision or Statistics Canada's September CPI. The published date is the document's date. Our view on what it means for contractors sits in a separate section headed "Analysis".

We do not report rumours, we do not quote people we have not read, and we do not fill gaps in a document with guesses.

About the marketing

The short answer: four services, chosen by your bottleneck.

We offer rate-change explainer pages, fuel-switching campaigns, local search and heating-season ads. Most heating companies start with local search or ads, then add content tied to their province's rate and program calendar.

About cost and commitment

The short answer: published prices, a free trial, no lock-in.

Plans and website packages are listed on our pricing page, taken from HVAC.Agency's published prices. GST/HST is added by province, with GST and QST in Quebec. Anything not on the page, such as ad-spend handling, is confirmed in writing in your proposal before you commit.

About results

The short answer: real, named results, and no guarantees.

Our results page shows named HVAC and heating companies, each linked, such as CanroHeat.ca with 250% lead growth. Those results belong to those companies in their markets. We will tell you honestly what we think is realistic for yours.

About the provinces

The short answer: we cover every province and territory, and each one is different.

Heating contractors in Alberta and Saskatchewan work mostly with gas, where the commodity is cheap and reliability sells. Quebec is mostly electric and needs French-language content. Atlantic Canada has the most oil-heated homes and the biggest price story of 2026. Our areas section has a page for each, with the regulators, programs and fuel mix as of our last check.

When a contractor asks us whether a national campaign will work in their province, our answer is usually "partly". The structure carries over; the message, the programs and the timing do not.

About rebates and programs

The short answer: we explain them, date them and point to the administrator, but we never decide eligibility.

Program terms change often. In 2026 alone, CleanBC Better Homes tightened its rules, several oil-to-heat-pump programs closed, and a federal heat pump rebate was announced. We check each program before a campaign mentions it, write "as of" dates beside every amount, and send homeowners to the administrator to confirm. If you advertise a program yourself, do the same: a closed rebate on your website costs more trust than it ever earned.

About what we won't do

The short answer: no invented reviews, no fake addresses, no promises we cannot keep.

We will not write or buy reviews, list addresses you do not operate from, or claim savings a homeowner cannot verify. We also will not tell you a campaign is working when the call data says otherwise. Those rules protect your licence to operate and your reputation, and they are how we keep ours.

About working together

The short answer: in person or by video call, phone, text and email.

We are headquartered in Vancouver and work with heating companies in every province and territory. Our hours are Mon–Fri 9–6 Pacific. See the contact page for what to include in your first message.
