About HeatingNews.ca

HeatingNews.ca reports heating market news by province and markets heating companies across Canada. Ali Sedighi, MBA leads it from Vancouver within the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group. We are not a heating contractor.

Written by Ali Sedighi, MBALast updated:

HeatingNews.ca exists because heating contractors need two things that are hard to find in one place: a reliable, dated account of what changed in their province's heating market, and a clear plan for turning those changes into customer calls. We do both. We report utility rate decisions, energy prices and program changes from primary sources, and we provide digital marketing and business consulting to heating companies across Canada.

Who we are

The short answer: a Canadian team in the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group, headquartered in Vancouver.

HeatingNews.ca is part of the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies. Sedighi.ca, Ali Sedighi's consulting company for growth, marketing and technology, runs brands such as HVAC.Agency, HVAC.Digital, Trades.Agency, BusinessConsulting.ca and Conv.ca. Ali also founded SAZ.ca (Strategy & Acceleration Zone), where Canadian companies get help with strategy, AI adoption and faster revenue growth. HeatingNews.ca belongs to the HVAC.Agency family of heating and cooling marketing brands.

We are headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, and work with clients across Canada by phone, text, email, video call or in person.

What we are not

The short answer: not a heating contractor, not a regulator, not a compliance adviser.

We provide digital marketing and business consulting to Canadian heating and HVAC companies, and that is all we provide. No one on our team installs, repairs or services a furnace, boiler or heat pump. We report what regulators and utilities publish, and we link them, but we do not give regulatory, compliance or eligibility advice. Questions of that kind belong with bodies such as TSSA, Technical Safety BC or the program administrator.

Ali Sedighi, MBA

The short answer: 17+ years in digital marketing and 150+ live HVAC websites built.

Ali Sedighi leads HeatingNews.ca. He holds an MBA in Technology Management and has worked in digital marketing for 17+ years, starting in 2007 when he founded ONE.ir, a full-service digital marketing agency. He now lives and works in Vancouver.

He is the founder of Conv.ca, a conversion-rate optimisation agency, and MyAutomation.ca, and the Founder & Managing Partner of SAZ.ca. He has served clients in Canada, the USA and Dubai, and has built 150+ live HVAC websites, including CombiBoiler.ca, GasBoilers.ca, RomaHeating.ca and CanroHeat.ca.

How the newsroom works

The short answer: primary sources, the source's own date, and analysis kept separate.

  1. We read the original document: a regulator's decision, a utility's release, a provincial program page or a Statistics Canada release.
  2. We summarise it in our own words and link it, with the document's date as the story date.
  3. We add a short section for heating contractors, labelled as analysis every time.
  4. Where a document leaves something open, we say so instead of filling the gap.

You can see the method in every story in our newsroom, such as our report on the Régie de l'énergie's 2026–2028 Hydro-Québec rates.

How we work with heating contractors

The short answer: start from your province and your numbers, then plan.

  • First conversation: your province, service area, fuels and systems, job values and capacity.
  • The 7-day free trial: a digital marketing audit, website performance check, SEO analysis and competitor benchmarking, with no credit card.
  • A written plan: what we would do first, what it costs, and how we will measure it.
  • Ongoing work: reporting monthly or weekly depending on your plan, with no lock-in.

You keep ownership of your website and accounts. Our services and pricing pages give the details, and our results show named HVAC work.

Why provincial news and marketing belong together

The short answer: customers ask about the news, and the contractor who answers well gets the call.

When a regulator approves a rate increase or a program closes, homeowners search for what it means. A contractor whose website explains it clearly, with the date and source, earns trust before the first phone call. Our newsroom keeps us close to those changes in every province, and that is what makes the marketing specific. Call, text or email to start a conversation.
